Exploring heritage sites at night is not only another way to learn about a city’s history, but also an opportunity to observe the nocturnal ecosystem from a different perspective. By joining our “Summer night tour”, participants are guided into a place where history and nature intertwine, experiencing the striking contrast between its daytime and nighttime characters.

Along the way, participants will learn about the stories of the Old Tai Po Police Station and the ideas behind its revitalization, while also paying attention to the various urban wildlife that quietly become active after dark, gaining insight into the relationship between humans and the environment.

Two sessions will be held in July, offering participants the chance to closely observe the heritage at night—from the sounds emerging from the plants to the animals and insects inhabiting stones and tree branches. These are all parts of an ecological landscape that becomes more vibrant after sunset. At a relaxed pace, participants can listen to history while appreciating nature, rediscovering this familiar yet unfamiliar place from a new perspective.
