Green Hub

Inspire Sustainable Living

Our programmes raise public awareness that a transition to sustainable living is both urgently needed, desirable and achievable.

Our goal is to develop an expanding network of groups and individuals working towards community resilience, progressively reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, and reversing the destabilisation of the climate.

We are in a time of severe global crisis, including the inter-related issues of widespread disconnection from nature, from each other and even ourselves; the ever-increasing exploitation of, and unwise over-reliance on, the world’s dwindling resources to support unsustainable lifestyles; over-population, climate change; shrinking natural habitats and species loss.

Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) and the Green Hub are attempting to do what we can to educate, undertake species conservation and ecosystem restoration and promote ways of living more sustainably.

Our Sustainable Living programme brings hope, happiness and improvement by working together with the public, Governments, academia, NGOs and businesses, to promote and demonstrate localised, healthy, community-oriented, low-consumption living, to help protect our common future.

Note (1): The Carbon Neutral Challenge project was funded by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) and hosted by the Kadoorie Farm and Botanical Garden and the Green Hub. From 2022 to 2023, it offered various low-carbon living education activities and proposed a wide range of action ideas aimed at encouraging everyone to make changes in their daily lives to reduce carbon emissions
