1)Permaculture in the City: Shenzhen Field Trip

Cities may be built of concrete, but they hold powerful potential for ecological transformation. In this full‑day tour, we explore pioneering examples of how permaculture is being woven into Shenzhen’s dynamic urban landscape. Through visiting selected gardens, led by local expert Ivy, and urban farming projects to learn how ecological thinking is influencing city planning, community life, and sustainable design in one of the world’s fastest‑growing cities.

2)19 April : Shenzhen City Permaculture Tour

Shenzhen’s permaculture community has grown rapidly in recent years, with hundreds of community gardens and urban farming initiatives emerging across the city. Guided by local expert Ivy, this tour explores selected gardens and urban farming projects to understand how ecological thinking is influencing city planning, community life, and sustainable design in one of the world’s fastest‑developing cities.

Permaculture is more than growing food or designing landscapes—it is about nurturing relationships, collaboration, and human ecosystems.
Spend a meaningful morning with us at Reed Blossom Community in Nam Chung, an eco‑village led by The Partnership for Nature Education and Conservation (est. 2020). Their mission is to foster sustainable living, preserve rural heritage, and support resilient community life.
This gathering invites dialogue, reflection, and connection. Our hope is that it will plant the seeds of a stronger permaculture network in Hong Kong.

4.Ocean Day: Can Permaculture Help Our Seas?

Hong Kong’s identity is intertwined with the ocean - yet our marine ecosystems are at risk. Join us for a half‑day eco-friendly boat tour offering a rare opportunity to observe Lantau’s marine environment up close. This is a chance to experience the sea not just as a landscape, but as a living system.
Together, we will:
- Learn about coastal ecosystems and marine biodiversity
- Observe marine mammals and wildlife in their natural habitat
- Explore the challenges facing Hong Kong’s oceans today, and explore emerging ideas around marine permaculture.

🐣 Easter Special: Children in Permaculture – A Family Day at Ark Eden
Join the team at Ark Eden for a joyful, hands-on day where children and parents explore the magic of soil, creativity, and nature together.
In this special family experience at Ark Eden, children will discover how to do amazing things with soil: from making clay bricks and painting with natural pigments, to planting and playing in the earth. Through creative, hands‑on permaculture activities, children and adults will explore together simple ways to reconnect with nature and learn how regenerative thinking can inspire the next generation.
