Exploring Nature Workshop (Private Group)

Children learn best when they are genuinely interested and engaged. Exploring Nature workshop is designed to increase children’s appreciation for nature, food and the environment. By participating in interesting and enlightening activities related to food growing and urban agriculture at Green Hub, children will explore the way to live in harmony with nature and cultivate greater feelings of compassion and connection with the mother Earth.

 

Theme 1: Seasonal Produce

Activities

- Know more about seasonal crops: Through observation and interactive games related to climate, seasons and food production, children's cognitive skills can be developed

- Making animal mochi: making animal-shaped glutinous rice dumplings with seasonal ingredients, starting from food to teach children to love nature and cultivate an attitude of cherishing food (The finished products will be taken home for enjoyment, please bring your own food container)

 

Theme 2: Herbs

Activities

- Create map of herbs: through observation and recording the characteristics of different herbs and plants in the kitchen garden, children’s’ ability to observe carefully and attentively can be built up

- Make herb oatmeal cookies: through cookies making with fresh herbs, awareness in cherishing food and caring for the environment can be cultivated, teaching children an appreciation and understanding of nature

 

Fee: $1200/ class (Tuition and cost for the ingredients are included)

Target Group: 4 - 7 years old

Time: 10:00-11:30 am

Date: Wednesday to Monday (Closed on Tuesdays)

Venue: The Green Hub (Old Tai Po Police Station), 11 Wan Tau Kok Lane, Tai Po

Language: Cantonese / English / Mandarin

  • We will process your application and you will be contacted via email shortly. If you do not receive the confirmation letter in 7 days, please call (852) 2996 2826 to the Green Hub.

Confirmation Procedures

  1. Green Hub staff will notify the applicant about the application results by email.
  2. Once the booking is confirmed, change on booking detail and/or refund will not be considered unless it is cancelled due to inclement weather conditions as stated in the Participants’ Guideline.
  3. Should there be any controversy, the Green Hub management reserves the right of final decision.
