Gluten-free Vegan Pandan Red Bean Mooncake Cookery Class
Pandan leaf is also known as the 'Vanilla of the East'. Pandan leaf a tropical plant in the Pandanus genus which is known for its distinctive sweet aroma in many Southeast Asian cuisines. It is also suitable for cultivation in Hong Kong
This cooking class will use locally grown organic pandan leaves and organic red bean to make mooncakes. Participants will have the opportunity to harvest fresh pandan leaves in the kitchen garden next to Eat Well Canteen. During the cookery class, participants will learn the techniques and applications of the pastry dough. Both the pandan mooncake skin and red bean filling are vegan and gluten-free, which are especially suitable for those who are allergic to dairy and gluten products.
Each participant can take 6 mini mooncake (Diameter: 5cm) home, please bring your own food container for the mooncakes.
The class will be taught in Cantonese.
